The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that we are located in the traditional and treaty territory of the Michi Saagiig (Mississauga) and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations, which include: Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations.

The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that the Williams Treaties First Nations have been stewards and caretakers of these lands and waters, and that today remain vigilant over their health and integrity for generations to come. We are all Treaty people.

Objective: To receive a debrief on the decision of the Committee of the Whole (COW) at their June 21, 2021 meeting on the revised SCEAC Motion regarding installation of eight electric vehicle chargers, and agree on next steps.

Objective: To discuss and approve invitation to Mr. Derek Paul, CEO of Lakefront Utilities to attend an upcoming SCEAC meeting, including the topics to be discussed at such meeting. (Attachment: Draft Invitation)

Objective: To decide on a carbon footprint calculator to recommend to Council for use by Cobourg citizens, including the criteria on which such calculator selection is based.

Objective: To report on response from Glenn McGlashon to the email from the SCEAC Chair on the expectations of a Steering Committee in developing the ICSP/GDS.

Objective: To receive a report on the four SCEAC Work Plan objectives that were ranked the highest in terms of GHG emissions, namely: Program to incent citizens to act on climate emergency; Provide comments on ICSP/GDS; Assist with implementing Cobourg’s Climate Action Plan; Review and respond to Council referred requests.

Objective: to provide an update on status of Special Projects of interest to the SCEAC namely: the Affordable and Rental Housing CIP; Comprehensive Zoning by-law Review; Tannery District Sustainable Neighbourhood Master Plan, and the ICSP/GDS standards; and the County Housing Project with Habitat Northumberland and Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services.
