Deputy Mayor Seguin, Coordinator of General Government Services, called the meeting to order at 5 PM

Deputy Mayor Seguin, Chair, explained the general purpose of the meeting, which was to receive verbal presentations from organizations and groups who have submitted a Municipal Community Grant Application for the 2021 Town of Cobourg Municipal Operating Budget.

There was no declaration of pecuniary interest declared by members.

Brent Larmer, Municipal Clerk/Manager Legislative Services, noted that notice was published in the local newspaper, posted on the Municipal Website www.cobourg.ca pursuant to the Town of Cobourg Public Notice Policy. Applicants were also notified individually, and this process is pursuant to the Town of Cobourg Municipal Community Grants Policy.

Dora Body, Cobourg Ecology Garden, provided an overview of the grant application and the operating budget for the Cobourg Ecology Garden. Ms. Body spoke to the impacts of  the pandemic, enhancements, changes and the benefits of garden to the Town.

Mary Dunphy, Cobourg Museum Foundation, provided an overview of the grant application and spoke to the required drainage system upgrade, impacts of the pandemic, property taxes and the summer student work program. Ms. Dunphy noted that the museum opened on July 18th with restrictions.

Donna Ball, Cobourg Lawn Bowling Club, provided an overview of the grant application and spoke to the request for parking passes along the property of the lawn bowling club. 

Leonna Woods, Victoria Hall Volunteers, provided an overview of the grant application and spoke to the impacts of the pandemic on the organization. Ms. Woods highlighted the fundraising initiatives lead by the organization.

Leona Woods, Cobourg and District Historical Society,  provided an overview of the grant application and spoke to the request of an in-kind grant donation of space for monthly meetings. Ms. Woods provided background information and explanation of the organizations purpose and mission. 

Glenn Bailey, Northumberland New Ventures Band, provided an overview of the grant application and provided background information. Mr. Bailey spoke to the bands mandate, growth, lost in revenue and the impacts of the pandemic on the organization.

Ken Prue and Michael Peppa, Les AMIS Concerts, provided an overview of the grant application and spoke to the impacts of the pandemic on the organization. 

No presentation provided by applicant. Grant application was received.

David Newland, Northumberland 89.7 FM Small Town Radio, provided an overview of the grant application. Mr. Newland also provided background information and explanation of the 2021 Summer Music Series Concert.

Trish Dryden, Sounds of the Next Generation, provided background information and overview of the grant application. Ms. Dryden spoke to the impacts of the pandemic and the benefits of organization to the community.

Deputy Mayor Seguin, Chair explained the next steps of the review and approvals of the 2021 Municipal Community Grant Applications during the 2021 Budget Deliberations.
