Please be advised that the Committee of the Whole Council Meeting will begin at 6:00 P.M.

 

This Committee of the Whole Meeting will be held using a hybrid meeting model. Members of Council and Municipal Staff will have the choice to participate in-person in Council Chambers or to participate via Electronic Participation. Please note that in-person attendance in Council Chambers by members of the public is now permitted. The public may also view the Council meeting live via the Town of Cobourg live stream. TRADITIONAL LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

  

The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that we are located in the traditional and treaty territory of the Michi Saagiig (Mississauga) and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations, which include: Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations.

The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that the Williams Treaties First Nations have been stewards and caretakers of these lands and waters, and that today remain vigilant over their health and integrity for generations to come. We are all Treaty people.

Memo from the Senior Financial Analyst regarding the Report from the Audit Committee – 2021 Financial Statements

  • Action Recommended:

    THAT Council receive the draft audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2021; and 

    FURTHER THAT Council approve the 2021 Consolidated Financial Statements of the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg be adopted and approved at the regular council meeting on January 16th, 2023; and

    FURTHER THAT a notice be published on the municipal website advising that the Consolidated Financial Statements for the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg for the year ended December 31, 2021 have been posted to the municipal website in accordance with Section 295 of the Municipal Act, 2001.

Verbal update from the Treasurer/Director of Corporate Services, regarding the revised 2023 Operating and Capital Budget Meeting schedule.

  
  • Action Recommended:

    THAT Council receive the verbal update from the Treasurer/Director of Corporate Services for information purposes; and 

    FURTHER THAT Council approve the revised 2023 Budget Meeting schedule.

Memo from the Municipal Clerk/Director, Legislative Services, regarding the Unfinished Business/Referred Items from the 2018 – 2022 Council Term

  • Action Recommended:

    THAT Council receive this report for information purposes to address unfinished and referred business items from the outgoing term of Council; and

    FURTHER THAT Council direct items to Municipal Staff for further comment or review as necessary to decide to approve or to dispose of the unfinished or referred business items from the outgoing term of Council to remain on Councils Agendas; and

    FURTHER THAT Council direct the Staff to include a review and report on the Unfinished Business Item listing that appears on every Council Meeting Agenda as part of the Municipal Governance Review.

Clerks Staff have brought forward a summary of Unfinished Business of the previous term of Council for the January 9th, 2022, Committee of the Whole Meeting for direction.
