The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that we are located in the traditional and treaty territory of the Michi Saagiig (Mississauga) and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations, which include: Curve Lake, Hiawatha, Alderville, Scugog Island, Rama, Beausoleil, and Georgina Island First Nations.

The Town of Cobourg respectfully acknowledge that the Williams Treaties First Nations have been stewards and caretakers of these lands and waters, and that today remain vigilant over their health and integrity for generations to come. We are all Treaty people.

  • Debrief on Presentation to the TAC on Thursday, Feb 25 by Warren and Tony
  • Debrief on PDAC Feb 23rd discussion on SCCAC presentation (by SCCAC Observers)

Objective: to receive an update on actions re changes to Terms of Reference and agree on next steps.

  •  GRCA Representative: Debrief from Adam on request of Nicole Beatty to raise with GRCA having a representative from the GRCA on the SCCAC
  • Youth Representatives: Debrief from Adam on the work of the Youth Council in relation to having representatives from local schools on the SCCAC
  • Next Steps – all – including adding a representative from Sustainable Cobourg

Objective: to share ideas with Adam Bureau re adding attraction to the street from an environmental/climate crisis perspective

Objective: To develop an agreement among SCCAC members on the development density they would like to recommend to the Planning Department, Planning and Development Advisory Committee and Council

  • Review and discuss draft development density discussion paper prepared by Minnie (attached)
  • Agree on next steps

Objectives: 

  • To review final draft of SCCAC 2021 and agree on final Work Plan to submit to Council (attached) 
  • To review draft SCCAC Annual Report for 2020 and agree on final Annual Report to submit to Council (attached) 
  • To review draft Presentation to Council on Annual Report and Work Plan (attached)

Objective: to agree on whether to invite Derik Paul to an upcoming SCCAC Meeting including what the SCCAC would like to discuss with Derik.

  • Debrief from John on Lakefront Utilities consultation meeting
  • Agree on purpose of meeting with Derik
