Bicycle Action Committee to speak regarding the Prioritization of Cycling Infrastructure in the Town of Cobourg

Objective: To decide whether the SCCAC will support the BAC Request of Council as specified on page 11 of their Presentation (attached: Presentation)

8.1

Motion regarding Changes to the Terms of Reference

Objective: Debrief on Daft Motion that went to Council and Council’s decision. Note: Sustainable Cobourg asked that they be able to submit the name of another SC representative (attached: Motion approved by Council).

Motion regarding Environmental Officer Position

Objective: Debrief on Council’s decision regarding Environmental Officer Position. (attached: Motion approved by Council)

SCCAC Position on Sidewalks

Objective: Debrief on any feedback from Councillors on the SCCAC Sidewalk Position report submitted to Council for information.

Installation of EV Charging Stations in Cobourg

Objective: To decide whether to request Cobourg Council to install 8 EV connectors in Cobourg. (Draft EV Charging Station Motion to Council)

Request Council to Approve Name Change for the SCCAC

Objective: To decide whether to submit a motion to Council asking for a name change (attached: Draft Motion to send to Council)

Impact of Work Plan Objective on Reducing CO2/GHG emissions

Objectives:

• To determine if it can have general application to the Work Plans of all Advisory Committees by applying the emissions ranking proposed by Warren to the SCCAC Work Plan; and
• Determine whether the SCCAC feels it is an appropriate ranking to recommend to Council to ask all Advisory Committees to apply

Carbon Footprint Calculator

Objectives:

• Decide whether the SCCAC should spend more time on deciding which carbon footprint calculator to recommend for use by Cobourg citizens. Considerations would include the time/resources required of the SCCAC to do so, and the resources of the Town to implement, in light of its impact on addressing the climate emergency compared to other actions.
• If determined to be a worthwhile use of SCCAC and Town resources, then decide on the next steps to identifying a carbon footprint calculator to recommend including what questions the SCCAC needs to answer.

Follow Up Response to BAC

Objective: to decide whether a follow up response to the BAC is required at this time and if so what should such response contain

Objective: Prioritize unfinished business for June 2nd, 2021 Meeting

• Partnering with the Art Gallery: Warren and Adam to include in their Outreach to the Community Proposal
•  Inviting Derik Paul of Lakefront Utilities to an SCCAC meeting
• Closure of Brookside
• Two applications before Planning and Development Committee: three story hotel at 1144 Division Street; single story addition for spa/salon at north end of We-Fix-U/Comfort Zone building on William Street
• SCCAC position on development density for Cobourg
